These are the guitar fascinations that I call my own. I either put the pieces together to form a new article, or the content features something from my own collection of guitar gear.

My fascination with guitars goes beyond guitars themselves. My fascination also includes amplifiers, interfaces, software, and guitar pedals. Some say I may have too many guitar pedals. Those people would of course be wrong. One of the reasons I have the number of guitar pedals I do is because it’s so easy to find guitar pedals under $50 USD.
Heck. It even gives me something to write about on this website! Convenient.
Recently I came across the very affordable Donner LP-124B on sale. Through a combination of the seller having an online sale, and the website I purchase through providing additional savings for being a valued customer, I could buy this guitar for under $120 (Australian dollars) including delivery. I couldn’t resist. Let’s see if it was worth it.
If you are a heavy metal guitar fan and also frequent YouTube, chances are high that you are aware of the SWOLA riff challenge that Ola Englund started with the second entry in his long-running Sunday With Ola (SWOLA) series. If you’re not aware, I recommend checking the SWOLA videos out.
This year, for my ongoing guitar fascination, I thought I’d try something different. Rather than buying another guitar, I thought I’d try to build one. Now, when I say build, I mean to attempt a guitar kit build—which is one step up from using a virtual guitar builder to design and buy a guitar.
Welcome to the fourth and final entry in this four-part series cleverly titled Getting to know the author. This is perhaps the least appropriate time in the series to point out that I’m quite introverted. Oops.
As we find our way three-quarters of the way through this four-part series of Getting to know the author, I’d like to remind folks that I haven’t perfected the art of capturing my guitar playing perfectly onto video. I haven’t mastered audio either.
I know I mentioned my lack of recording ability in the first part of this Getting to know the author series. Well, part 2 of this series is proof of that. I am working on improving this though.
